A local Hyderabad court issued summons to Telugu film actor Rajasekhar and his wife Jeevitha in connection with a defamation case and asked them to appear before it on February 9. The Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate court took into consideration the complaint of Allu Aravind, film producer and brother-in-law of actor-turned-politician Chiranjeevi, against the couple that a prima facie case under Section 500 (defamation) can be made and issued the summons,Aravinds counsel S Malla Rao said. The court has prima facie found a case of defamation against Rajasekhar and Jeevitha after recording the statement of my client (Aravind) and ordered summons on the actor couple asking them to appear before the court on February 9, Rao explained.
Aravind, who had filed a defamation case last month,in his statement said the allegations made by the couple and their follower Harikrishna Goud against Chiranjeevis Charitable Trust and the blood bank run by it and also against its trustees were completely false and politically motivated.
The trio, while participating in a debate on TV news channels earlier, had alleged that large-scale irregularities took place in Chiranjeevis blood bank and Charitable Trust and that the blood bank misused the funds it got for maintenance from the state government and that it was selling blood.
