Tainted former minister Babulal Nagar, accused of sexually assaulting a woman, appeared for a medical examination at the SMS Hospital on Saturday.

A potency test was conducted and samples of blood and sputum were sent to the forensic science laboratory for examination. Officials said the samples will be matched with semen-stained clothes retrieved from the alleged victim and could nail the minister in the case.

Earlier, when a CID team went to get Nagar at his house, his family said they were unaware of his whereabouts. In the afternoon,Nagar called the team to say that he would reach the hospital on his own.

The tests were to be done a week ago but Nagar had gone to Shirdi without telling the CID. After the tests,Nagar said he too was in favour of an inquiry by the CBI.
