Aamir Khan on Thursday visited several flood-affected areas to distribute relief along with Gyalwang Drukpa, the spiritual head of Drukpa Buddhist sect that has a major following in Ladakh.

He had earlier visited the Druk White Lotus School that featured in his movie 3 Idiots.

Drukpa announced construction of new eco-friendly houses in the village that will be designed by the architect who designed Druk School, lauded for its architecture. The school is one of the few structures the floods did not knock down — although they damaged its windows, doors and furniture and filled it with 7-feet mud. “While we cannot change the climate,we can at least educate people about making such structures. We are going to share our expertise and knowledge about architecture,” Jampal Paul Thong,Chairman of Ladakh Disaster Relief Committee, the humanitarian arm of the Drukpa sect, said. The floods have destroyed or damaged over 10,000 houses in Ladakh.
