Five persons,including an 11-year-old girl,committed suicide in separate incidents in the city.

Five persons,including an 11-year-old girl,committed suicide in separate incidents in the city since Sunday evening.

According to reports,following a fight with her brother Naveen over changing TV channels,Navaneetha,11,hanged herself at Jai Bheem Nagar near Sadaramangala Sunday night. She was the daughter of Kumar,a cab driver from Tamil Nadu.

Mouna,23,an M Tech student at M S Ramaiah college,committed suicide at her house in Gokula in Matthikere. Her parents said she may have done so as she was suffering from a stomach ache.

Syed Sadik,24,a mechanic,committed suicide in Padarayanapura Sunday night. Police said the asbestos roof of the house was leaking. Following an argument with his wife over this,Sadik reportedly hanged himself.

Shwetha,25,a garment factory worker,killed herself at Subramanyapura,allegedly over dowry harassment. She was married to Lokesh,an auto driver,and the couple have two children. A dowry harassment case has been registered and Lokesh has been arrested.

Nagaraj,42,an auto driver from Mahalakshmi Layout,committed suicide at his house in J C Nagar Sunday night. Police said his auto was seized as he had failed to repay the loan and this may have driven him to kill himself.
