Alleged druglord Jagdish Bhola on Thursday claimed three Punjab cabinet ministers were involved in the drug racket, which was recently busted by the Punjab Police.

“I am willing to disclose the names of all three ministers if a CBI probe is conducted into the matter. If at all,I am just a pawn in the hierarchy of drug trade in the state. The real kingpins are the politicians,” said Bhola, while leaving a Mohali court on Thursday.

Bhola was produced in the court of Additional District and Sessions Judge Parminder Pal Singh in connection with a case registered against him at the Banur police station. The next date of hearing has been set for December 24.

His lawyer Gopal Singh Nahel said the statement came as no surprise to him. “We are already planning to demand a CBI probe into the matter and then divulge the names of all the political and influential bigwigs who are actually involved in the drug racket,” he said.

Bhola,in his first hearing before a magistrate on November 12,had said: “I’m being framed. Even if a single gram of illegal drugs recovered are proved to be mine,I am willing to be hanged.”

Interestingly, ever since Bhola was arrested on November 11,he has stayed in police custody in connection with various cases pending against him, including illegal possession and supply of drugs, illegal possession of weapons and forgery under NDPS Act,Arms Act and the IPC. It was only on Wednesday that a court a Fatehgarh Sahib district sent him to jail, following which,no police custody was sought.

The Patiala police had brought him to Mohali court on Wednesday thinking that he had a hearing scheduled. However,he was taken back once they realised that the date of hearing was set for Thursday.
