Former telecom minister A Raja Tuesday said that the CBI’s investigating officer in the 2G allocation scam conducted an unfair probe and alleged that certain witnesses were intimidated by the investigating agency to make them depose accordingly. The claims were denied by CBI’s Deputy Superintendent of Police Rajesh Chahal, who deposed as a prosecution witness in the case. “It is wrong to suggest that I have not fairly investigated the case and that I have deliberately withheld material evidence which had come in favour of accused persons,” he said. Chahal denied he and other CBI officers intimidated key witness A K Srivastava, saying,“It is wrong to suggest that he toed our line.”
