The head of an all-BJP legislature committee inquiring into the February 6 viewing of pornography by three legislators from the party on the floor of the state Assembly confirmed assertions made by other members of the committee that 10 more legislators across party lines had viewed the porn clippings in the state legislature.

Srishailappa Bidarur, the head of the inquiry committee, that has been rendered a farce after Opposition members refused to be a part of it,confirmed that as many as 10 MLAs watched the clips apart from the three BJP ministers who were caught by television cameras while viewing the clips on a mobile phone. Bidarur made his assertion after viewing closed circuit television images from the state Assembly for the happenings of February 6. The assertions follow on the heels of the comments of another member of the committee Nehru Olekar, who said many MLAs watched the porn clips in the House.

Bidarur said on Thursday that the scope of the inquiry would not be expanded to encompass all the MLAs but would be restricted to the activities of C C Patil,Krishna Palemar and Lakshman Savadi — the three ministers who were forced to quit after the episode. “May be eight to 10 people,” Bidarur said when asked by reporters on Thursday as to how many MLAs viewed pornography.
