Narendra Modi stayed in Gandhinagar all day, skipping trips to Delhi and Rajkot and keeping himself busy with his chief ministerial duties until the evening, when he finally tweeted about L K Advani.

“Had a detailed conversation with Advaniji on phone. Urged him to change his decision,” Modi tweeted. “I hope he will not disappoint lakhs of Karyakartas (workers).”

In another tweet,he said he could not attend the parliamentary board meeting in Delhi. “Spoke to Rajnathji,in such a short time cannot reach the parliamentary board meeting, but will stand by whatever decision the board takes.”

Advani, meanwhile, did attend a meeting of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Home Affairs, shortly after his resignation from key BJP positions.

Modi also cancelled a trip to Rajkot to pay his last respects to Kadar Salot, the state BJP’s minority cell chief, who passed away Monday morning. He began the day by attending the ceremony to swear in four newly-elected BJP MLAs,and later chaired a meeting of a few ministers and secretaries to prepare Gujarat’s plan ahead of a Plan Panel meeting in Delhi.
