T&T thrash CSK to make last four

Lendl Simmons’s half century and his opening stand worth 79 with Evin Lewis helped Trinidad and Tobago beat Chennai Super Kings by eight wickets and confirm their place in the semifinals. T&T needed to chase down Chennai modest total of 118 in 17.4 overs to go ahead on net run rate. They won the game in 15.1 overs and will face Mumbai Indians.

On a slow pitch,which was being used for the second time on Tuesday,the Chennai lower-order batsmen were dismissed for single-digit scores while the Murali Vijay,Suresh Raina and MS Dhoni — batsmen who got starts — couldn’t carry on for a final assault.
