English cricketer Tim Bresnan has said that he is happy to be England’s ‘lucky charm’.

Bresnan helped his England steer towards a victory at Trent Bridge, which would mark his 13th win in 13 Tests.

“I prefer being called a lucky charm to being called a mascot. They dress up in silly outfits,do flick flaks and dance around. For me,it’s just nice to be able to make a contribution,” Express.co.uk quoted Bresnan,as saying.

The all-rounder said England still has work to do to finish off the match, despite West Indies being reduced to 61-6 in their second innings, giving them a lead of just three runs.

“But I have made a significant contribution here and a big difference in the game and that is great. We’ve not won it yet and there is work to do still,” he said.

His partnership with Stuart Broad, which added 52 for the eighth wicket, was seen as crucial to the momentum of the match swinging back England’s way, despite a good bowling performance in the morning from the West Indies.
