Osama bin Laden gave 26/11 planner Ilyas Kashmiri the job of assassinating President Barack Obama and the then chief of US military operations in Afghanistan Gen. David Petraeus, documents and letters recovered by the Navy SEALS during their raid on the Abbottabad compound have revealed.

Kashmiri, who was involved in the Kashmir insurgency, was told to form two task forces to target aircraft carrying Obama and Petraeus,an analysis of the seized documents by the Combating Terrorism Center (CTC) at West Point military academy shows.

“Bin Ladin had asked Atiyya’s predecessor,Mustafa Abu al-Yazid,to task Ilyas, presumably Ilyas Kashmiri,to set up two units, one in Pakistan and another in Bagram,Afghanistan,to target airplanes known to be carrying President Obama and/or Gen. Petraeus on their visits to these areas,” says the report, titled Letters from Abbottabad: Bin Ladin Sidelined?

Osama, says the report, wanted to assassinate Obama so that the “utterly unprepared” Vice President Joe Biden would have to take charge.
