A promosing all-rounder from Jamnagar city of Saurashtra Ravindra Jadeja,who has been named in Indian squad for upcoming one day series against Sri Lanka said that he will not be feeling any extra burden of being an all rounder.
While talking over phone from Jamnagar about 100 kms from Rajkot,the 20-year all rounder sounded confidence to play positive cricket and play an important roll for the team to get the team India’s winning momentum continue if he will be given a chance in playing eleven. I have been selected for Indian team and I will try my level best to do well Jadeja said.
It is a great moment for me to be selected in National team and I will give more than cent per cent to prove my selection,he said.
Jadeja,who also played BCCI’s inaugural Indian Premier League (IPL) for Rajasthan Royal said he was lucky to get chance to play with International crickets in IPL which he thinks to be a great platform for young players like him.
He gave full credit to his parents,family members,and coaches,Mahendra Singh Chauhan and Debu Mitra and said without support of those he could not be in Indian team.
Ravindra Jadeja emerged as an all rounder after concluding Ranji season in which he took 42 wickets with best figure of 7 for 31 against crucial tie against Hyderabad and scored 739 runs from nine matches with unbeaten 232 runs against Orissa.
He played vital role helped Saurashtra to reach in Ranji Trophy semi final this year. Jadeja was also involved in a record 525 runs partnership with Cheteshwar Pujara against Orissa in Ranji Trophy match playedhere in Rajkot at Khandheri Stadium.
Ravindra Jadeja will become second player from Saurashtra to play ODI,earlier in 1980,right arm off spinner,Ashok Patel from Bhavnagar city had played a one day match for India. Patel is now chief coach of Gujarat’s Ranji Trophy team.
