West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has gone on Facebook to urge regional parties to come together in a morcha. “Time has come for all the regional parties to come together and form a federal front in the coming Lok Sabha election,” says her post. “I appeal to all the non-Congress,non-BJP regional parties to launch a united fight…”

Her party has attacked Narendra Modi after his elevation in the BJP. “If he becomes PM,he will preside over the country’s Balkanisation,” said Shubhendu Adhikary,MP.

Mamata had so far been indicating she would contest the polls alone. “Let her name the prime minister of her alliance. Or if she wants to be PM,she should say so,” said Pradip Bhattacharya,PCC chief. CPM politburo member Suryakanta Mishra said,“Today she says ekla chalo re,tomorrow she invites other parties to join her.” State BJP president Rahul Sinha too ridiculed her.
