Limba signs contract

India's recurve coach Limba Ram has formally signed on the dotted line with the Archery Federation of India for a one-year rolling contract.

India’s recurve coach Limba Ram (picture left) has formally signed on the dotted line with the Archery Federation of India for a one-year rolling contract. He will receive Rs 50,000 as monthly salary.

Confirming this to The Indian Express,Ram said,“I signed the contract on Wednesday and I am happy that both the sports ministry and the federation think I can guide our archers,” Ram said from Kolkata,where he is conducting the national camp.

“This is a one-year contract and will need to be extended every year,” Ram added. “I was impressed by the scoring today during training. We have some good talent,” he said.

Meanwhile,the AFI has formally offered Australian Peter Feeney to take over as coach of the Indian compound team. “He has impressed us greatly and we are keen to sort out contract details with him,” AFI secretary Paresh Nath Mukherjee said on Friday.

The federation was offering the Australian $ 4,000 as monthly remuneration.
