Indian youth international and former Salgaocar youth academy product Brandon Fernandes is believed to have landed a two-week trial with English Premier League club Reading FC.

The midfielder will train with the recently promoted English side for a week,and if he manages to impress the coaches — chief of staff Brian McDermott in particular — there,stands the chance of this promising youngster being absorbed into their youth academy.

It is believed that Brandon will undergo the mandatory medicals at the struggling Premier League side on Wednesday.

The 18-year old Goan has been training in Cape Town,South Africa,for the past two years as a part of the African Soccer Development’s Soccer School of Excellence.

Before his stint on the other side of the Indian Ocean,Brandon spent five years with Indian club side Salgaocar. Brandon has also been capped at the national level for India at all age-group levels.

The skilled teenager had been on the radar of a few English clubs after he had trained at Old Trafford as a part of a Manchester United School Skills competition during when he was still a part of the Salgaocar set up.

Reading are currently 18th in the EPL,with 3 points from 6 games.
