The Delhi & District Cricket Association (DDCA) has come under the focus during the off-season for alleged misappropriation of funds meant for institutional clubs,converting them into privately-run clubs without notice or permission,anomalies in nomination/election of club secretaries into the sports committee against several office-bearers of the association.

Following a police complaint registered in the IP Estate police station to this effect by Pramod Jain,Sarojini Nagar Gymkhana Cricket Club secretary,DDCA president Arun Jaitley has appointed a three-member commission,with Chetan Chauhan as its chairperson,to look into the matter and file a detailed report within three days. Chauhan will have Anil Jain and Dr SS Sareen assisting him in the inquiry.

Confirming the development to The Indian Express on Sunday evening,Chauhan said: “Yes,we have received some complaints regarding certain institutional clubs and financial mismanagement by some members. The president has appointed a three-member committee and has asked us to submit the findings within three to four days.”

Under the scrutiny is affiliation of several banking institutions who have disassociated themselves from the DDCA league but clubs are still run under the respective names and affiliation fees is paid privately. The payments in such cases is allegedly delivered from the DDCA to separate accounts created by individuals.
