Unmukt Chand, despite having played two seasons of the IPL in the past, has made little impact in franchise cricket. But following his triumph as India’s under-19 captain and thanks to his good showing in the bygone domestic season, many expect Chand to cash in in IPL 6.

With Delhi Daredevils’ big names Jesse Ryder and Kevin Pietersen out of action for the entire season,Chand believes that he has it in him to play a bigger role for his side in the absence of the stars. “Their absence would mean additional responsibility. We have to rise to the occasion,” the 20-year-old Delhi youngster said.

Having scored back to back tons in the Vijay Hazare Trophy,Chand now hopes that he can take his domestic form into this edition of the IPL. “I have played well this season. I have to maintain this form. I hope I would be able to retain it in the following few weeks,” he added.
