Brett Lee has been ruled out of the Australia’s Twenty20 and one-day series against South Africa after being diagnosed with appendicitis. The speedstar was due to have an operation in Cape Town overnight which will sideline him from all cricket for six to eight weeks,a statement from Cricket Australia said. “Brett complained of some abdominal pain after arriving in Cape Town on Sunday,” team physiotherapist Alex Kountouris said in the statement.

New stadium in Ranchi

A cricket stadium with a capacity of 35,000 and built at a cost of Rs 140 crore is nearing completion in Ranchi,the hometown of India skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni. A top Jharkhand State Cricket Association (JSCA) official said that the stadium would be ready to host a One-day international by the end of October. Amitabh Choudhary,the JSCA president,said that he was confident that Dhoni would walk out for a toss against a visiting international side in his hometown in the near future.

Young Pak cricketer killed

Noman Habib,an upcoming pace bowler who stood out in the recent National T20 Championship,has been killed by unknown assailants in his hometown of

Peshawar. The dead body of Habib was found stuffed in a gunny bag . Police said Habib went missing since Monday and on Tuesday his body was found from a isolated place in Peshawar. On Monday he played in a first round match of the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy in Peshawar and took seven wickets.Police said they were investigating the reasons for the death.

Bangladesh wins T20

New skipper Mushfiqur Rahim smashed a six off the penultimate ball to lead Bangladesh to a thrilling three-wicket victory over the West Indies in the one-off Twenty20 international. Bangladesh required 20 runs in the last two overs,but Rahim and debutant Nasir Hossain scored 14 in the 19th over to ease pressure. Left-arm spinners Shakib and Abdur Razzak earlier bagged two wickets apiece as Bangladesh restricted the West Indies.
