As one of the solutions to the ‘Advani crisis’ in the BJP,the RSS has agreed to change its coordinator for the party. In place of Suresh Soni,Sarkaryawah Bhaiyyaji Joshi might take over, sources told The Indian Express.

The RSS had reportedly asked Dattatreya Hosbale,Joshi’s deputy,to take up the job. But Hosbale declined the offer, sources said.

RSS watcher Dilip Deodhar, who has spent years as swayamsevak before independently studying and articulating the organisation’s strategies, said,“The RSS has also agreed to be open about the prime ministerial candidate issue and give weightage to Advani’s opinion if he manages to hammer out an alliance in the post-election scenario to facilitate the BJP’s return to power. In which case,Advani might throw in his hat for the PM’s post and the RSS may settle for a brief stint for him before paving the way for Modi.”

Deodhar added: “The basic strategy of the RSS-Modi combine will be not to buckle under alliance partners’ pressure before elections, try to stand strongly on its own,and negotiate with prospective partners from a position of strength. The RSS believes those who have parted ways or have threatened to do so might have a rethink in that case.”

One of the key strategies of the RSS and Modi,he said, would be not to say anything that would put off the current alliance partners. The RSS,he said, believed if the BJP gained handsomely on its own, many parties would join the alliance.
