Mumbai Police constable Vilas Shinde’s mother passes away on his 13th day ceremony

According to the police, 75-year-old Kalawati Shinde died of a heart attack in her home in Satara at around 11 am.

While the 13th day ceremony marking the death of Vilas Shinde’s was still underway, the Mumbai police constable’s mother also passed away early on Monday. According to the police, 75-year-old Kalawati Shinde died of a heart attack in her home in Satara at around 11 am.

She was believed to have been severely distressed following her son’s death. Shinde was battling for his life for more than a week at the Lilavati hospital and had succumbed to the head injuries he sustained after being hit on his head with a wooden plank by a biker and his elder brother on August 23.

Police said that Shinde had met his mother last on August 14. Shinde (50), who was a head constable attached with the Bandra police chowky, was given a funeral with full state honours in his village in Satara.
