A function at Azam Campus in Pune Camp organised last week by Muslim Rashtriya Manch (MRM), known to be affiliated to the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), has left certain Muslim outfits agitated.

Indresh Kumar, a senior RSS leader and convenor of MRM, was the chief guest at this function – “Muslim Ladies Program and Fatimabi Shaikh Award Ceremony” – held on August 29 at Maharashtra Cosmopolitan and Education Society in Azam Campus. The main topic was “Talaq Mukta Islam”.

Taking strong objection to the whole function, AIMIM staged an agitation outside the Azam Campus on Friday afternoon, claiming it was a part of conspiracy to saffronise a Muslim educational organisation. A huge police force was deployed on the spot. AIMIM leader Anjum Inamdar said, “We agitated demanding the resignation of Magdum. Kumar’s name appeared in connection with a bomb blast case. It was wrong to call such persons.”
