AMU student injured during celebratory firing after Ind-Pak T20 match

The incident took place when some university students fired in the air after India’s victory and a stray bullet hit Kaleem Ahmed on his head

A second year M Tech student, who belongs to Azamgarh, was injured during celebratory firing after the India-Pakistan World T20 cricket match on Saturday night, at Sulaiman Hall in Aligarh Muslim University campus.

The incident took place when some university students fired in the air after India’s victory and a stray bullet hit Kaleem Ahmed on his head, police said. Kaleem was rushed to the hospital where doctors referred him to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in Delhi where he is currently undergoing treatment, Station House Officer, Civil Lines Police Station, Surya Kant Dwivedi said.

Additional Superintedent of Police, Aligarh, Anshul Gupta said they are waiting for a complaint from AMU’s administration to register an FIR in this case.

    This was the fear that has now become an unfortunate reality ! This could have easily happened in JNU Feb-9 'cultural event/ poetry reading', as they are allegations of firearms being bished.       The question is why was there a clash....were students of AMU supporting stan??

        Question arises how did the students get hold of fire arms? That too carrying it inside the campus.
