No matter how hard you try to style your tresses, if it’s not healthy from inside, no styling product can come to its rescue. Taking care of your locks might look like a mammoth task, but if done right it’s a piece of cake. You just need to know the right tricks!

To make your life easier, here are a few haircare tips you can follow for shiny, healthy hair.

For frizz-free, straighter mane: If you want to have sleek, straight hair but want to stay away from heating products and chemicals then we have just the right solution for you. This lemon juice and coconut milk paste is a thing of wonder. When mixed, thse ingredients act as a cream conditioner which in turn helps straighten the hair. All you have to do is wash your hair with lukewarm water after you apply it and leave it on for 20 mins. Use it twice a week and you will notice a difference. However, there’s another alternative to this. You can also make a paste of bananas, yogurt, honey and olive oil. Just mash two bananas with two tablespoons of honey, yogurt and olive oil, mix well and keep it in the fridge for 30 mins. Apply the paste on your locks and cover it with a towel or a shower cap for an hour and then rinse with cold water.

Hair massage at home: Massaging your scalp for a few minutes everyday is a very good thing as it stimulates circulation. Just in case you aren’t aware, good circulation keeps hair follicles active. On days when you want to pamper your tresses then you can take olive or coconut oil, mix two drops of lemon in it and massage it gently into your scalp. Leave it on for an hour and then shampoo your hair. Also, you can use aloe vera gel to fight split ends, hair fall and dandruff as it restores the pH balance, reduces hair bacteria and relieves scalp itching.

Hair wash routine: It is advisable to wash your hair two to three times a week as it keeps your scalp clean. But that’s not enough, it’s also important to condition your hair after a wash as it further prevents fungal infection. The best way to do it is to use a wide-tooth comb to spread the conditioner and rinse it with cold water. This provides a shine to your hair cuticles.
