Though the PM Narendra Modi’s demonetisation move has proved to be quite a dampener for this wedding season, those already married may be thanking their stars that they got away with the big day without any such hitch. But wait, if this news report is to be believed, tomorrow will be a test of faith for many as it is none other than Unfaithful Friday – the day hailed as the one when married guys are most likely to cheat!

According to a Mirror report, this Friday 18 has been found to be the most popular day for a cheater to see his mistress before the year ends and the holiday season begins in full gusto. The flip side, if you’re a married woman, then it might bode well to know the husband’s whereabouts all day.

It turns out, Unfaithful Friday – as the day is popularly known – sees 30 per cent more activity on the married-dating website than any other week in November and December.

What else is making news

The news site quotes a survey of 300 members, in which 72 per cent cheaters were found to choose this very day for their clandestine meetings with their mistresses for a last weekend getaway before the year ends. The site’s spokesperson, Christian Grant, says in the report, “Unfaithful Friday, and the days that succeed it, represents the last chance an adulterer has to sneak away with their mistress.” He goes on to explain that in the subsequent weeks, these ‘cheaters’ will be busy with festivities revolving around their families – from Christmas shopping to New Year dos – leaving them very little time to devote to an extra-marital affair (those poor things?!)

Well, we’re not quite sure how much this applies to Indian men, but then it’s better to keep all bases covered, right?!
