In India, no celebration is complete without good food and gorgeous ensembles. While, we can’t say much about food when it comes to Bollywood gatherings, we can surely say a lot about who wore what to revel in the spirit of celebrations. This time, to offer prayers to Ganpati Bappa, B-Town beauties were at their best in Indian wear. From suits to saris, everything was out of the celebrity closets. Take a look.
To soak in the spirit of Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations, Karisma Kapoor picked a white and red suit from AM:PM and a pair of churidar pants. We think stylist Eshaa Amiin did a good job here by accessorising it with jhumkis from Amrapali Jewels and a statement ring from Aquamarine.
For Salman Khan’s Ganpati celebrations, Malaika Arora Khan was spotted in a Banarasi woven lehenga by Payal Khandwala. She paired it with a black sheer top with an asymmetrical silhouette. Stylist Maneka Harisinghani picked a statement necklace from Apala By Sumit Sawhney to complement the look. Winged eyeliner and minimal make-up finished the look. We think the fusion look worked here.
Shilpa Shetty picked Masaba Gupta for both Ganesh Chaturthi and Visarjan celebrations. We think she looked lovely in the sari – no room for faults here but we were not so convinced about her Indo-western look. The neon-esque colour did not bode well with us. Also, the dhoti pants with the sheer dupatta looked a little weird.
For Ganesh Visarjan, Sonali Bendre picked a blue sari with colourful striped borders. With poker straight hair, the actress finished the look with gold accessories, a crescent moon shaped bindi and a pop of soft pink on her lips.
For veteran designer Manish Malhotra’s Ganesh Puja celebrations, Sophie Choudry picked a red pleated anarkali and gold bandhini dupatta by the designer. With hair in an updo and mogra to accentuate it, she finished the look with Eina Ahluwalia gold jhumkis. We think she looked lovely in its simplicity and that dupatta was a beauty.
Dia Mirza changed two outfits for Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations. The first look in a cheery yellow Sukriti and Aakrti suit was a breath of fresh air while the second lion-motif look from Payal Khandwala’s collection was simple yet gorgeous. We think she does Indian really well.
