Wearing designer Mandira Wirk’s white drape gown, actress Nimrat Kaur looked every bit of a royal princess as she walked the runway at the Amazon India Fashion week. The 34-year-old actress donned pearl jewellery teamed with a cape to add more royalty to her look.
The designer showcased her latest collection titled New Royals, which comprised a wide range of panelled anarkalis, jackets and capes, floor sweeping bell bottoms, crop tops, jumpsuits and tapered trousers.
“Mandira’s collection is so pretty and feminine. I just love her clothes. It’s beautifully enhancing the female body form and at the same time makes you feel so light and pretty,” Nimrat told reporters post the show.
Mandira gave detailing to the attires using wide pockets, deep waistbands paired with layers of tiered ruffles and French knots. The range also saw a wide use of dori embroidery.
“The collection is pretty feminine and romantic. The attires are wearable and light. It’s a versatile range. I’ve used lot of pastels and capes and experimented with sleeves,” Mandira said.
Mandira herself was seen in a pink shade off shoulder gown with floral clusters print. Her collection saw over 20 stunning ensembles. Another major element in this collection was cut from delicate silks, sheer georgettes, chanderi, chiffons and linens.
Other designers, who have showcased their collections at AIFW, were Anita Dongre, Samant Chauhan, Gaurav Jai Gupta, Payal Pratap, Rina Dhaka, Rajesh Pratap Singh, Ashish N Soni among others. The first two days of the ongoing 28th edition were dedicated to the power of Indian handlooms and textiles.
