Earlier this year, ace designer Rohit Bal along with his muse Kareena Kapoor Khan gave an astonishing closure to the Lakme Fashion Week 2016, with his line stunningly portraying the essence of life and existence. At the event, the ‘Ki & Ka’ actress in a Rohit Bal creation looked every bit of a diva, dressed in royal blue lehenga choli with golden ‘chaand’ motifs, as she walked the ramp with historical St Xavier’s College in the backdrop.
At the event, Kareena said, “I love the chaand motif on the lehenga. It is something special. I would love to keep this for coming fifty years for my family. I love Rohit’s clothes. His clothes show his personality. He puts his heart in it. It’s been a wonderful experience.”
When she strutted down the runway, we thought no one could carry the ensemble better than the mom-to-be. And our feelings haven’t changed, even after spotting the gorgeous Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in his creation. We are just a little fascinated to see how at times an outfit on the ramp can look completely different than in real life, even if it’s from the same collection with the same embroidery work. In Kareena’s case, the flare of the skirt and the gorgeously embroidered bodice added to the charm But when the Ae Dil Hai Mushkil star picked up a different set, we just couldn’t warm up to it.
Also, the make-up was very different. We understand that you can’t really replicate what you see on the ramp during a regular event, but there are some basic guidelines that you can follow. For instance, Kareena was given an au naturale look, with dewy sheen make-up and nude lips, minus jewellery. Aishwarya on the other hand, was seen with kohl-lined eyes and marsala lips with a pair of earrings from Amrapali and a TBZ Ring. Given the heavy work on the lehenga, we wish the latter would have kept it simple. We think Kareena won hands down.
