Designer Varija Bajaj’s collection on the opening day of the India Runway Week on Friday was inspired by the uniforms of Super Heroes and was showcased with interesting headgear to match to the theme. However, the highpoint of the show was 5-year-old year old Shubham, who is battling Down syndrome, and his contagious smile.

“Our cutest showstopper Shubham, a 5-year-old boy who battles Down syndrome, with his contagious smile. He is a real hero who redefines the meaning of a show-stopper for all of us.

“He fights this society, it’s taboos and his own health problems so heroically that we all salute him and many others through this collection we showcased today,” said the designer

The designer showcased colours of black, deep grey, navy blue, olive green, maroon and purple in the form of chic western pret collection. Asymmetrical silhouettes, zippers, studs, rivets, lapels and laces made an integral part of her collection.
