A well dressed man is always appreciated by women. But when it comes to ideal dressing most men fall prey to bad choices as they are not able to define the correct look for a particular occasion. And especially when mercury rises, it’s necessary to keep the body cool yet effortlessly dressed to be the talk of the town. Nikhil Sharma, designer/founder, Lacquer Embassy gives styling tips to men for summer/monsoon.

Formal flavour
Simplicity works the best for men. One can wear a black shirt with leather detailing that will bring in a luxe element adding character and individuality to the look. One can pair it with a grey formal suit and a hound’s tooth bowtie (for the sartorially daring).

Finish off with a nice pair of velvet dress slippers and throw in a lapel pin in a tonally darker grey. Forgo the collar bar and tie clip if one decides on a lapel pin.

Casual call
They say it’s easy to be causal but, actually it’s not. One needs to keep the things in sync yet abstract to make it look more appealing. I think a sun bleached summer pastel shirt with a little detailing or panelling teamed with a pair of well-crafted tailored shorts can be the perfect call for sultry summer. Be sure the length sits right above the knee and not too short. Anything longer would look sloppy so getting it a bit tapered will give the casual look a sophisticated vibe. One can go in for white plimsolls or boat shoes (depending upon one’s choice).

Evening mantra
Being minimal is in trend. One can look effortlessly masculine in an unstructured blazer in lighter hues like sky blue, greys, as these shades work well for the evening. One can pair it with a Chinese collar luxury shirt and throw in a vintage print silk pocket square. For detailing team it with navy check trousers and monk strap brown shoes to show that you are sartorially-attuned.

Friday fetish
It’s about being in your skin, isn’t it? So, stop, think and mix subtle pinstriped or bold regatta striped blazers with a pair of nice white chinos rolled up. Throw in an oxford shirt underneath and finish it with boat shoes. Show a few inches of your ankle for the contemporary look but do wear the invisible socks (that don’t peep out) for comfort. Accessorise the look with a pair of stylish shades and a smart holdall bag for a refined aesthetic.

Beach ball
Fun, fashion and fall makes the beach day perfect. And now men too have a reason to flaunt. All it takes is to dare and dress. A cool nautical shirt can make a statement at the beach (don’t forget to roll up your sleeves). The nautical bold striped shirt can be teamed with a pair of solid or even very small dobby shorts .A wide brimmed Fedora is all one needs to ace up the style quotient and also protect the skin from sun. Flip flops are the best bet on the beach but also do carry a beach bag to hold all the essentials while complementing the look.

Party perfect
Detailing is the key to be the shutterbugs highlight. With so much of influx of event and occasion wear flooded in the market, suave is the way to go this party season. Detailing like velvet, satin, leather can go a long way displaying sartorial intelligence. One thing to avoid is to match the pocket square and tie. Velvet bow ties with metal tips add luxury to the whole look. Opt for colourful blazers or suits to inject some life in summer night scene. Pairing a jacket with a tee shirt is now a well accepted norm especially when the mercury rises.
