Your favourite Cartoon Network characters just got a comic book makeover. So if you are pally with Dexter’s Laboratory, The Powerpuff Girls, Courage the Cowardly Dog and Adventure Time, the 90’s shows, chances are you would love the comics also.

The channel has joined hands with publishing house Pepperscript for this series called Remix.

Reading a comic book is different from watching a cartoon series. Since there’s no sound and overwhelming digital visuals, one’s imagination comes into play.

Sample some storylines.

Dexter has invented a magic cookie this time. The over-enthusiastic Dee Dee snatches it from him before he could feed it to his rat to see its effect. Result, the city has a new monster that only Dexter can tame.

Your favourite Powerpuff Girls are out to nab a jewel thief who wants to turn humans into dogs. He’s successful partly. What happens when the thief turns Powerpuff Girls into dogs? Well, well.

While I enjoyed these imaginative tales and visuals a lot, few typing mistakes here and there were a put-off. And I sincerely hope teenagers are not discouraged by the price tag of Rs 75. A more affordable price tag would have helped for the revival of this almost extinct industry.

Nevertheless it was fun to revisit the favourite characters of our childhood in print.
