Arundhati Roy will come out with her next work of fiction in June 2017, 19 years after her Booker prize-winning novel The God of Small Things was published.

The book, The Ministry of Utmost Happiness, will be published by Hamish Hamilton UK and Penguin India, a statement said. “I am glad to report that the mad souls (even the wicked ones) in ‘The Ministry of Utmost Happiness’ have found a way into the world, and that I have found my publishers,” Roy said.

“To publish this book is both a pleasure and an honour. What an incredible book it is – on multiple levels; one of the finest we have read in recent times,” said Simon Prosser, Publishing Director of Hamish Hamilton and Penguin Books UK; and Meru Gokhale, Editor-in-Chief, Literary Publishing of Penguin Random House India.

“The writing is extraordinary and so too are the characters – brought to life with such generosity and empathy, in language of the utmost freshness, joyfully reminding us that words are alive too, that they can wake us up and lend us new ways of seeing, feeling, hearing, engaging. It makes the novel new – in the original meaning of novels,” the statement said.

According to Roy’s literary agent David Godwin, “Only Arundhati could have written this novel. Utterly original. It has been 20 years in the making. And well worth the wait.”

Roy has a wide range of non-fiction publications that cover everything from US’ invasion of Iraq and Afghanistan to India’s nuclear tests, but this will be only her second work of fiction.

le sounds like she will finally come out as the anti Hindu, Christian supremacist that she really is. Her pionate hatred is India, her voracious object is also India. She is a lunatic we could certainly live without.

Arunadhati Roy’s, who apparently espouses leftist ideology, yet has been tirelessly promoting the main agenda of Fascist Islamic State of stan that has declared policy of bleeding and destroying this nation by 1000s cuts. She has sided with the that in short span of 70 yr of its religious-based creation has ethnically cleansed its entire Hindu/Sikh potion, has killed millions of its own citizen in Bangladesh in millions, bed and killed non-Sunis like Shias, Ahmadis, carries out target killing of Balochs, Sindhi, PoKs residents and is using fighter jets against its civilian. It seems that this woman is least concerned that stan in just last few decades years has killed 80,000 Indian cirtizen. Yet Roy has no qualms about aligning herself with the religious-based divisive agenda of the globally recognized terror-promoting state of stani. She and others of her ilk have been unapologetic in promoting Islamist agenda Hurryat Conference. Its no wonder that she has become an apple of an eye of stan, ISI and Jihaddi groups. So what precisely makes this women “Indian” or even responsible global citizen in any sense of the word. Only thing left is for her and start collecting funds for LeT Jiash and ISI. There are more loyal Indians living in Karachi than her.

Definitely not worth buying. This traitor thinks for years and writes a silly book which the media mafia over rates or just gets lucky and then she is on top of the world spewing hate against the nice, lovely Indian who has bought and read her silly, stupid book . Let her write a book specially tailored to mullahs and sell it to them and make her money. No more living in India, getting fame and money from Indians and supporting mullahs and terrorists. We've had enough of people like her.

For the perfect literary example of the triumph of marketing over merit, seek no further than The God of Small Things.
