Mumbai get ready! Comic Con India’s sixth edition is coming to enthral you

The two-day extravaganza on OCtober 22-23 will have many international and national artists and special WWE Zone and Wand Master Training booth this year.

October is a month of festivities and celebrations, especially across India. What with Navratri, Durga Puja and Diwali all falling in the same the month. Amid all these religious festivals, there is one more that has comics fan rejoicing – that’s the Comic Con festival between Navratri and Diwali. We must agree the timing couldn’t have been more perfect.

Yes, The Comic Con India is back with its sixth edition in Mumbai on October 22 and 23 to grip us with excitement and comics fever. Other cities like Delhi, Hyderabad and Bangalore too will witness the festival soon.

Heading out for a rendezvous with your favourite stars from the comic world? Then here are some of the things you definitely should not miss and watch out for:

International Guests:

The festival will see renowned artists like Jim Beaver, who starred as the beloved demon hunter, come over as a special guest. Bobby Singer on Supernatural; Cameron Stewart, an Eisner award winning artist, known for his work on Catwoman and Batman series from DC; Edwin Huang, a New York based comic artist, illustrator and storyboarder, known for his work on the Street Fighter comic series and Dan Goldman, artist of Shooting Wars, Red Light properties, Priya’s Shakti and many more stars and artists will be there to raise the excitement at the festival.

National artist:

Of course, our desi comic con will provide an opportunity to the fans to interact with our Indian artists and creators. The show will feature creators from all over india, leading indie creators such as Aniruddho Chakraborty, Vivek Goel and Shamik Das Gupta as well as creators such as Saumin Suresh Patel, Abhijeet Kini, Vinay Brahmania, Reshmi Chandrashekhar, Leena Swamy, Garima Shukla, Mayank Kumar and many more.

Dress Up:

The Cosplay Costume Contest, one of the major attractions at Comic Con India, will continue to give assured prizes to people in great costumes. Comic Con India under its five categories — comic book or graphic novel; animated series or movie; Manga or Anime; sci-fi or fantasy like every year. Also, five Cosplayers will get a voucher of Rs 2500 each for their Spirit of Cosplay.

Best part: Each day, one lucky winner out of the chosen five will get an awesome chance to win Rs. 50000 (Cash Prize) and get to enter in ‘Indian Championships of Cosplay’. The Winner of ‘Indian Championships of Cosplay’ will compete and represent the country at the Annual Crown Championships of Cosplay at Chicago Comics & Entertainment Expo!

Experimental zones and upcoming movies:

Alto Mumbai Comic Con will include AXN Zone & Marvel’s Dr. Strange Zone. AXN Zone will have lots of fun engagements with a chance to win some cool goodies. Fans can witness some of their favorite characters like Sam & Dean, Sherlock, Heisenberg, Dexter etc come alive and engage with them in the most fun-filled way! And Marvel’s Dr. Strange Zone, will be celebrating their upcoming movie.

Special WWE zone:

The two-fest will also feature a first of its kind WWE Zone. The WWE experience will have a grand stage complete with a huge LED wall that will allow fans to select their favorite WWE Superstar’s entrance music, as they make their way down the specially created ramp. WWE is giving fans a never-before, unmatched experience; a chance to feel, act, and enter the ring just like their favorite WWE Superstar!

Special attraction:

There will be a Wand Master Training Booth (By Warner Bros) for the first time ever. At the Wand Master Training Booth, comic enthusiasts can learn to use wands to create official spells and get the video of their experience too.

The Alto Mumbai Comic Con will be taking place at Bombay Exhibition Centre (Goregaon) on both the days. Tickets are available on their official website and priced at Rs375 for single day and Rs575 for the Super Fan VIP Ticket which allows entry on both the days. Another ticketing category called Buddy Pass is especially designed for fans coming to comic con with their friends in a group of five, priced at Rs1,875.
