Naukri.com, India’s biggest job portal, has put out an advertisement alerting job seekers of fraud companies duping innocent candidates with “false offers of jobs and collecting money in return”. The company clarified that it does not offer jobs and is just an advertisement platform for jobs.
The advertisement, seen in national dailies, warns of how unscrupulous elements have been claiming an association with the Naukri.com or Info Edge India Limited and collecting money in pretext of career enhancement or job placement.
Of late, there have been many incidents reported on frauds/ fake agencies sending mails to job seekers luring them for good positions in reputed companies on decent salaries. In many cases, they pretend to be a professional consultancy and demand hefty registration charges. The candidates, especially from small towns, willingly shell out thousands to book an interview slot in some premium company. But post payment, they never receive any confirmation calls from the same consultancy.
The advertisement further informs that they receive money only in the name of “Info Edge (India) Limited” or “Naukri.com”.
To make candidates aware about such cheats, the website has published a notice advising candidates to verify the legitimacy of a job offer received via the internet by visiting the security advice carried on their website.
