Bengaluru has the most career opportunities in the IT sector than any other city, according to a study which found that there are more job opportunities in the IT industry than in e-commerce or MBA sectors. About 35 per cent of the overall employment opportunities in the IT sector are located in the town.
According to a survey by Youth4work, Bengaluru is closely followed by Hyderabad (at 23 per cent), Delhi (at 22.5 per cent), Ahmedabad (at 19 per cent), Mumbai (at 15 per cent) and Chennai (at 11 per cent) for job offerings. In the e-commerce sector, Delhi took the lead at 37 per cent, followed by Mumbai, Bengaluru, Ahmedabad, Chennai and Hyderabad.
The increasing trend in the e-commerce industry is capable of surpassing the US in the next 10 years, with an expected growth rate of 30 per cent. This has been triggered by the increasing internet usage due to the Digital India initiative.
