After being in the custody of the National Investigation Agency for seven days, three men, accused of instigating 22 youths to join Islamic State, were sent to judicial custody on Wednesday.

Arshi Qureshi, Rizwan Khan and Maulana Mohammed Haneef had been earlier questioned by the Mumbai crime branch. The NIA had sought a lie detector test on Qureshi, an employee of Islamic Research Foundation, but as he did not consent for it, the court rejected the plea. Qureshi also alleged torture by the NIA through an application before the court, arguments on which will commence next week.
