The Lokayukta police have received sanction from the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) to prosecute the suspended IAS couple accused of amassing assets worth Rs 41 crore. The Lokayukta police got the sanction to prosecute Arvind and Tinoo Joshi, on Saturday. The Joshis are facing cases for disproportionate assets under the Prevention of Corruption Act and Indian Penal Code. Sources said Joshis will be chargesheeted. They said that besides them, 15 others including Arvind’s father H M Joshi, mother Namrata Joshi, associate S P Kohli, Delhi-based stamp vendor Raj Rani, insurance agent Seema Jaiswal would be chargesheeted.

- A day after a West Delhi government school teacher was allegedly stabbed to death by two class XII students in Nangloi, a group of teachers gathered outside the school to demand strict action against the accused on Tuesday. The agitated teachers also demanded a compensation for the kin of the deceased and a speedy probe in the matter. “This incident has happened with a very nice person; he was a very hard working teacher. We all very sad over this incident. And we demand that the government gives the kin of the deceased Rs 5 crore as compensation and his children government jobs according to their calibre. And, we also demand that those students be punished,” said government school association senior vice president Rajbeer.
