A Border Security Force (BSF) constable was injured along the Line of Control (LoC) in Rajouri district due to sniper fire from Pakistan side on Friday. Pointing out that the injured constable was deployed in Keri area of Bhimber Gali sector, sources said that he has been taken to the hospital. His condition has been stated to be out of danger.

Significantly, this has been the second incident of sniper fire along the LoC from Pakistani side during the last 48 hours as an army JCO was injured under similar circumstances at Gulpur in Poonch district on Wednesday morning.

The sniping incidents from Pakistani side restarted along the LoC the very next day after three heavily armed terrorists sneaked into an army camp at Nagrota killing seven army men including two officers before getting killed by troops on November 29. The terror attack had come nearly a week after India had launched massive fire assault against Pakistani troops along the LoC on November 23.
