A day after the cabinet reshuffle by Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje, ruling BJP on Sunday announced its executive body by inducting three MPs and MLAs respectively on board and introducing few fresh faces. Constituting the new executive body, BJP state President Ashok Parnami announced his team, introducing Ramnarayan Dudi, Nihalchand Meghwal and Om Birla, all representing the state in Parliament, among the nine vice presidents. Like cabinet reshuffle, change in executive body too is a balancing act on caste and regional lines with Jat, Dalit and tribal communities finding representation in the government.

The new executive council announcement, right after CM Raje’s second cabinet reshuffle on Saturday, seems to be an exercise to induct the party’s prominent faces that could not be given space in Saturday’s rejig. They including MLA Abhishek Matoria, Alka Gurjar and princess of erstwhile Jaipur royal family Diya Kumari. The party has downsized its general secretary list while showing faith on Matoria and Bhajanlal Sharma. The others who were inducted as party’s vice presidents include Rajendra Gehlot, Bhagwati Jhala, Prahlad Panwar, Chunnilal Garasia and Laxminarayan Dave.

Ashok Lahoti, who was the secretary in the previous executive body, will be the party spokesperson. Among the list of secretaries are Mukesh Dadhich, Kailash Meghwal, Saroj Prajapat, Balwan Yadav, Harbhagwan Singh, Jagdish Devasi, K K Bishnoi and Arun Agarwal. Ramkumar Bhutada will be the treasurer.

The party also announced the names of eight district presidents including Ratan Gadri (Chittorgarh), Belji Patidar (Dungarpur), Mahipat Singh (Bundi), Suresh Jain (Swai Madhopur), Bhopal Singh (Jodhpur Dehaat), Zalim Singh (Barmer), Sanjay Jain (Jahlawar) and Rajendra Nagar (Baran).

Since Parnami was nominated state BJP president in 2014 and elected for the post in 2015, changes in the executive body were much awaited. He will hold a press conference regarding fresh developments within the state cabinet on Monday.
