Congress president Sonia Gandhi on Saturday made a scathing attack on the Narendra Modi-led government at the Centre, alleging that the BJP failed to fulfill its poll promises, and that it hijacked the UPA’s policies and was now seeking credit for them.
Kick-starting her poll campaign in Haryana, the Congress chief said the BJP was trying to show off as if everything has been done only after it came to power. “During elections, some political parties use different ways to mislead voters… What is happening now? Has inflation decreased? Has the price of each meal reduced for the poor? Are there more jobs? Hundred days have passed, where is the promise of bringing back black money?”
Addressing a well-attended rally in Meham, Sonia said, “The BJP believes in taking credit for the work done by others. When they were in the opposition, they made fun of our programmes and are now renaming all our programmes and taking credit for them.”
