In yet another instance of crime against women in Haryana,a director of a coaching centre has been arrested on charges of molesting a student and attacking the husband of his colleague. The accused and another Jhajjar resident have been running a residential coaching centre for students aspiring for admission in Sainik Schools. Police sources said that the accused allegedly tried to coerce a 10-year old girl to sleep in a room on Sunday night,after which the student divulged the matter to the institute’s co-director. Angry,the accused allegedly tried to manhandle the woman and also threatened to kill her husband. He was produced in a Kosli court on Thursday and remanded in 14-day judicial custody.

Officer exposed ‘land scam’,transferred

Chandigarh: Senior IAS officer of Haryana cadre,Ashok Khemka,was transferred on Thursday from the post of Director General,Consolidation of Holdings,Land Records,Special Collector (Headquarters) and Special Land Acquisition. Chandigarh: In a suspected case of honour killing in Panipat,a teenager was allegedly strangled by her maternal uncle,Ramesh,on Wednesday. The police said that Ramesh has confessed that he killed the girl because she was misbehaving with her elders and not obeying their orders. The victim was allegedly in a relationship with a boy,said police.
