Will contest LS poll if AAP wants me to: Kejriwal

Dismissing Congress's prospects in coming elections, Kejriwal said the next poll will be a battle between BJP and AAP.

"If the need arises, then I will contest elections. Personally, I don't want to contest elections," Kejriwal said. (PTI) “If the need arises, then I will contest elections. Personally, I don’t want to contest elections,” Kejriwal said. (PTI)

After announcing that he would not contest coming Lok Sabha polls, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has said he would do so if his party asks him to but he won’t be in the race for the top post.

He said the coming elections would see a fight between BJP and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).

In separate interviews to news channels, Kejriwal, when asked whether he would contest Lok Sabha elections if the party asks him to do so, responded in the affirmative.

“If the need arises, then I will contest elections. Personally, I don’t want to contest elections,” he said.

This assumes significance as Kejriwal had earlier said that he or any of AAP MLAs would not contest the Lok Sabha elections.

Asked whether he was vying for the top post, he said “I don’t want any post. I dont want to become any minister. I want to establish Swaraj in India.”

Dismissing Congress’s prospects in coming elections, he said the next poll will be a battle between BJP and AAP.

He claimed “Delhi (assembly elections outcome) will be repeated at the national level. Congress won some 7-8 seats in Delhi (assembly elections). This will also happen at the national level,” he said.

Taking a jibe at BJP, he said “The Aam Aadmi has halted BJP’s rath (chariot),” adding his government has done a better job than compared to newly-formed BJP governments in Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh.

He said “if the Narendra Modi promises good governance, Rahul Gandhi promises inclusive one, then we promise Swaraj, government of the people.”

The AAP apparently has denied LS tickets to sitting MLAs, we are told. Perhaps Aravind Kejriwal doesn't come under this category, or better, he is more equal among the equals. It just reminds of George Orwell's "Animal Farm"!

Again going back from his own statement. THree days before AK said that it was decided that no MLA would be eligible to fight for Lok Sabha just to counter Binny, but now he says he would fight if the party wants him to, which means indirectly that he is ordering his coterie to raise the issue and ask him to fight. Now he also says that he would not be a candidate for PM. Tomorrow he would say because the party wants him to so he would want to be the PM. People beware of AAP.

Never ever. After all, power is something people are after. Greed has never left any one without falling for it.

What he said about the 'rath' was nice actually. Iska matlab ye mante hain ki hum rath rok sakte hain? Jara aur dhakka lagao. :)

AAP has already become a "SHRAAP" to the people of Delhi.
