Describing Congress and BJP as the two sides of the same coin,Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati today asked the electorate to vote BSP to power in Uttarakhand for the betterment of all sections of society.
Addressing a series of election rallies in Roorkee and Dehra Dun,the BSP chief said her party belongs to ‘Sarvjan’ (everybody) and wants to establish a society based on quality.
“BSP is not against any caste or religion. It wants to remove the disparities and establish a society based on equality,” she said and cited distribution of tickets by her party to all sections of society in the forthcoming polls as an example to support her claim.
Mayawati said Congress and BJP are the two sides of the same coin and the problems of poverty, illiteracy andunemployment cannot be eliminated due to the “wrong policies” of the two parties.
Alleging that non-BSP governments are formed with the help of the rich, she said policies of such regimes are conseqently made so as to favour the high and mighty.
“Only BSP is the party which makes policies for
the welfare of all sections of society,” she said.
Listing works done by her government in Uttar Pradesh for
the welfare of various sections of society including minority,
women, dalits, students and farmers, the BSP supremo said her
government did not tolerate atrocities against women, dalits
and other weaker sections and the culprits were immediately
sent behind the bars.
Asking people of Uttarakhand to vote her party to power for their betterment, she reminded them of how she formed several districts and tehsils in this part when she was Chief Minister of undivided Uttar Pradesh.
She also cautioned people against opposition parties, saying they can try to mislead them in the name of caste and religion during elections.
