The Congress has won the Uttarakhand floor test and its Chief Minister Harish Rawat is set to come back later today once the Union Cabinet lifts President’s Rule imposed in that state.

The Centre told the Supreme Court on Wednesday that there was no doubt Rawat had won the vote and that the Centre would revoke President’s Rule if the court permitted.

Rawat won 33 votes in the floor test where the reduced magic figure was 31. The BJP won 28.
