In this interview, Sachin Pilot talks of the way the Congress plans to go about its agitation against Vasundhara Raje. Excerpts

The BJP has rallied behind Sushma Swaraj and Vasundhara Raje.

Their positions are untenable and they have to come out clean. Turning a blind eye and the BJP refusing to seek their resignation is not the end of the story. How much longer can they deny that Raje was involved with Lalit Modi and he practically ran the government when Raje was CM last term? It is public knowledge in Rajasthan that he was involved in multiple land deals, financial deals. Now that they do not get along anymore, everyday there is a new revelation.

A Congress government followed that BJP government; why was it quiet?

There was a commission set up; it fell into some legal hurdles. But do not forget that Lalit Modi escaped the country in 2010. There was an UPA government then and it is just because of the Congress-led government that he was trapped in the UK. It is only when Narendra Modi’s government came that his fortunes turned and he could travel the world. I think he is upset because he could not get as much help from the BJP as he was expecting. That (may be) why he is giving these documents out in the public domain.
