TDP leads in Seemandhra, Cong-TRS tie in Telangana

A day after sweeping the municipal polls, the TDP Tuesday surged ahead in the panchayat polls in Seemandhra, while the Congress was breathing down TRS’s neck in Telangana. Counting started Tuesday morning and will go on till Wednesday morning. By 6 pm Tuesday, counting for half of Seemandhra’s 10,092 Mandal Parishad Territorial Constituencies was completed, and TDP was ahead winning 2,532 seats, followed by YSRCP 2,086 seats, Congress 76, and Independents and others 257. In the 853 Zilla Parishad Territorial Constituencies, TDP and YSRCP were neck and neck, winning 27 seats each.

In Telangana’s 6,497 MPTC seats, Congress won 1,291, TRS 1,131 seats, TDP 516 and others 615. In the 443 ZPTC seats, TRS won 92, followed by Congress in 42. TDP won 9 and others 2 seats.
