Congress MP from Thiruvananthapuram Shashi Tharoor on Monday issued a press release after the AICC decided to remove him as the party spokesperson.

In the press release, Tharoor said he accepts the decision of the Party President to relieve him of his responsibilities.

“I am in politics to serve the people of India, and my constituency, Thiruvananthapuram, through my service to the Congress party.

“This I have always done with utmost sincerity and commitment and I will continue to do so,” Tharoor said.

Refering to KPCC’s complaint against him for “praising Modi”, Tharoor said he wished to draw the attention of the AICC leadership to the full range of his statement and writings on contemporary political issues.

“I am now treating this matter as closed and have no further comment to make,” Tharoor said.

Being in opposition doesn't mean one cant praise Modi,it shud be taken in right spirit in politics rather than personal vendetta.

How the heck do you "remove" the ones that gives Cong ANY credibility? Your ranks are filled by leaders who, perhaps, would not be able to articulate a sentence, let alone a paragraph. Since when does contrasting viewpoints within a party become a punishable offence? Or do you just believe in the party of many with one monolithic and outdated thought. Face it, Congress; you probably are still around because of the stalwarts and statesmen/women of the past. By "removing" Dr. Tharoor you have advertised loud and wide that you DO NOT WANT substance. Well, so much for the party of hi. He probably is squirming away in shame.

You just made his email id public. Not many would have made an effort to search it online, but with press note being published along with his letter head, Mr. Tharoor should expect a few thousand mails and possibly, an invitation from BJP (keep refreshing that page, Sir). Though I am certain that he would not be checking this email id by himself, but whosoever does it, !

so he admires modi, so do i and i am not in the congress or remotely share their ideology. i saw the congress as haters and scorners of bharat. maybe shashi after so many years saw the hypocricy within the congress. atleast modi has the forude within to want an equal opportunity for all indians. we never saw this vision in the corrupt congress. i hope all indians realise modis dreams and commit themselves to the movement of change in india

The NDA Govt. should promulgate an ordinance banning the praise of Nehru, Indira hi, Rajiv hi and Sonia, who had done more harm to the nation and its people than any good during their 60 yr rule, with the threat of long prison sentences; text book publishers should be prohibited from making any appreciative references to the Congress rule of the nation. This is the only way that people can forget the ordeals the common man faced under such rule.
