Speaking to The Indian Express, Rahul Tewari, Director of Information and Public Relations, Punjab government, confirmed that “Delhi-based OMLogic” has been hired to promote government policies online.

“We are disseminating government policies through social media,” said Tewari.

“We were managing pages of Sukhbir Badal, CM and Harsimrat Badal earlier but it was at the level of the Akali Dal. A specialised agency has been hired as the deputy CM was adamant on using the social media to the fullest,” said a PRO.

The Punjab government has also shortlisted Pehchan Advertising and Marketing Ltd. to promote and build its image. According to Rahul Tewari (Director, Public Relations), four companies bid for the tender, of which two met the grade. Pehchan was zeroed in on as it made the lowest bid of around Rs 6 crore. “However, no work has been allocated yet as we want them to make detailed presentations on how they will go about their work,” he said.

The brand building exercise for the Punjab government would include organising Invest Punjab summits and agriculture summits, apart from building the state as a brand across various media.
