Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s wife Jashodaben, who lives in Brahmanwada village of Unjha town of Mehsana district, has been given round-the-clock police protection by the Mehasana police.

Since yesterday, five policemen of Mehsana police headquarters were deployed outside her house.

“Based on orders given to us by our superiors, we have deployed one armed guard and 4 other unarmed policemen of police HQ for the security of Jashodaben since yesterday. They will remain stationed near her house 24×7 and move wherever she goes” Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP)- Mehsana HQ said.

Jashodaben came into the limelight when Modi mentioned her name as his wife in the affidavit filed with the Election Commission ahead of elections. However, it was also revealed that Modi and Jashodaben hardly lived together, as Modi left his house to joint the RSS immediately after their marriage.

Since then, Jashodaben has been living with her brother in Brahmanwada village of Unjha in Mehsana.

Modi’s mother Hiraba lives with Modi’s younger brother Pankaj Modi in Gandhinagar. However, no police protection has been given to them.

“Since there are no specific orders yet from Centre or state government in that regard, we have not provided any security cover to them yet,” a senior police official from Gandhinagar said.

BJP is communal party but congress is a secular party, Modi was of course boasting and bluffing his way through as usual. He wanted to grab the credit for the rehabilitation of the earthquake ravaged Kutch. The total mess of the rehabilitation program of Kutch had led to the people’s anger against Keshubhai Patel’s ministry resulting in the removal of Keshubhai and installation of Modi as CM in October, 2001.

Few fringe elements want it. But they cannot realize their aims. If they wanted to, the BJP could have tried it under Atal Bihari Vajpayee. That did not happen. Now Indians want change. They have voted for change.

I can say that I am yet to see a tolerant nation like India and that is because of the Hindutva mentality, which teaches us to see Unity in Diversity. My friend, a retired medical doctor recently met one of his old Muslim patients, who is working in Saudi Arabia and this Kerala Muslim told my father that he is free in India and loves to live here than in Saudi Arabia !

Indian hope Mr Narendra Modi will bring that change. So Mr Modi should be given a chance. If he fails, the people will throw them out. Then what? Youth icon Mr Rahul hi? Mulayam? Mamata? Jayamma? Or Kejriwal and his AAP, which will take at least a decade more to gain maturity.

New PM Narendra Modi never allow anyone to control him. Nor he will allow ministers under him to do as per own wish. Gujarat is a live example in front of us; he has command on everyone and anything.

Not even ‘a few fringe Hindu elements’ want a Hindu Rashtra. If Hindus wanted Hindu Rashtra,we would have behaved like the Saudis 1400 years back. The truth is that 80 % majority Hindus are living at the mercy of 20% non Hindus all these years. What Hindus, like me, want is equality for all.

The great mandate, Mr Narendra Modi got, is not for Hindutva, but for good administration. It’s against price hike and corruption. People want sustainable development and not Hindutva. People of this country, irrespective of their religious orientation have become too smart for such tactics...

What junior ministers uttering foolish comments are teething problems, and the ministers are taking their own time to understand Mr Narendra Modi, as PM of India rather than people becoming scared the vested interests are trying to create fear psychosis among them.
