Mention of Godhra riots, Ishrat Jahan and Babri Masjid demolition created uproar in the Lok Sabha on Wednesday with MIM chief and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi raking up these issues during debate on President’s address.

Protesting BJP members tried to shout down Owaisi when he sought to know who were responsible for crimes against minorities and also assassination of Mahatma Gandhi. Owaisi’s remarks with regard to Babri Masjid demolition and Godhra riots evoked sharp reaction from BJP members who were heard shouting “shame on you”. Unperturbed by vociferously protest, Owaisi noted there are very few Muslim representatives from BJP in the Lok Sabha.

“Where is the pluralism and diversity?” he asked and demanded that the Prime Minister make it clear what he proposed to do for the minorities. As uproar continued in the House, Owaisi mentioned about Ishrat Jahan case saying he was raising the issuing of Ishrat Jahan as her “brother”.

Owaisi also mentioned the issue of murder of a young techie in Pune, saying, “I want justice to be done to the poor souls.”

Sir, regardless of what Owaisi brothers espouse or profess to do so, don't the questions seek our attention? What happened to humanity? What will a bereaved person do with progress or development? Can I put myself in the place of so many people burned alive or butchered in the Godhra & post Godhra engineered pogrom, and still believe Modiji? Please do not reply, just think! If we still look the other way, I doubt whether we still qualify as humans.

Owaisi, instead of all the Indians being murdered asks only about the Moslems. Instead of being secular, he is projecting himself as a rabid communalist. Compare this, when BJP and Modi are talking and dreaming on behalf of all Indians. Rise and shine, in secular India, Owaisi. Stop being a Moslem MP. Be a MP of India.

So when he becomes indian, he should not ask these questions? What should he ask then? People are murdered left and right and you want discuss development? Where is the common sense, what happened to your thinking? There is nothing wrong in raising questions for which the nation is looking for answers. Why is the questions not answered so far. He got elected because he brings forward his community issues.
