Brajesh Mishra,who was National Security Adviser in the BJP-led NDA government,today said that neither Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar nor his Gujarat counterpart Narendra Modi was of the calibre of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
Speaking to The Indian Express today,Mishra said,I am not launching any campaign against anyone,neither Nitish nor Narendra Modi. All I am saying is that nobody is of the calibre of Atalji.
I was merely defending Atalji who was my boss for six years, Mishra,who was principal secretary to Vajpayee,said. Mishra was clarifying on remarks on the comparison of Vajpayee and Modi,which has created a controversy.
Asked if the NDA would have won in 2004 had Vajpayee dismissed Modis government after the 2002 Gujarat riots,Mishra said,What power did Atalji have to dismiss the Modi government… in his own way,he had advised Modi to follow rajdharma…
